Perhaps this is just the theme of my own PDR deck creeping in, but the two cards together could be taken to illustrate the point that the last/least shall be first.

Just a thought.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00112925105285197174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-3355343987036501292010-01-07T20:27:48.279+00:002010-01-07T20:27:48.279+00:00like the post! i really like what you said about t...like the post! i really like what you said about the beggars swallowing their pride! i'm also new to tarot, so i have to look up meanings too sometimes! one thing i always think about when it comes to the sixes are have/have not - BOTH sides of the coin. and we can be on either side of that coin. we can either be the one giving (generosity) or the one taking (submitting). if that makes sense, sorry i tend to ramble sometimes!Carlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17577675513411459506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-44444887188040893082010-01-06T00:12:01.486+00:002010-01-06T00:12:01.486+00:00The five swords is a wonderfully complex card - ac...The five swords is a wonderfully complex card - actually one of my favorites in the deck.

One of the messages it often holds for me is that we must remember that in every victory there are losers. Someone will walk away hurt. But the boundaries are now set and the situation is clearer than it was before. The leader of the pack has been identified and others must follow or leave.

The Rider Waite is a great deck - not just a good one to start with. But hmm I don't really see the reading pointing to any solution, right now.
It seems to me that RWS is a good basis - also when working with other decks, as for example the Alchemical - which is my vote.
So either you should stick with it to learn as much as possible - before you change your direction, or you can change direction now and use the RWS for reference. It's the card for Aries (my astrological sign), and the sign of a leader. But the ram as an animal is also one who can endure the rockiest terrain, and pick out a path across the highest and most dangerous mountainous paths. Rams must be tough and surefooted, and willing to take calculated risks - all things that the Emperor embodies for me.Cathhttp://cathsmith.net/tarotnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-41269864977512277462010-01-02T17:55:51.229+00:002010-01-02T17:55:51.229+00:00Very nice post!Very nice post!Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00112925105285197174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-48117428447047113602010-01-02T00:13:45.425+00:002010-01-02T00:13:45.425+00:00With the references to Adam and Eve, could that be...With the references to Adam and Eve, could that be the angel that was sent to force them out of the garden?

:) LeighLeigh/BlueDragonflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05207239311719933452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-85030558169043913992010-01-01T23:50:00.076+00:002010-01-01T23:50:00.076+00:00Go on then, I'll give it a go :)Go on then, I'll give it a go :)Twoflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09508841344583201693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8165393811560576125.post-73903783718505502262010-01-01T22:25:09.231+00:002010-01-01T22:25:09.231+00:00You could do both.
